Spring into Easter!  Easter Craft Event on 5th April.

Following the success of our summer and Christmas craft afternoons…. 
Spring into Easter!  Easter Crafts at St George’s Church
Join us for a fun afternoon of Easter inspired crafts and activities; learn how to make delicious chocolate truffles
and make your own Easter table decoration.
From 2pm on Wednesday 5th April at St George’s Church, the afternoon concludes with tea and Easter treats – do come and join the fun.

Murder Mystery Evening

Prepare to be entertained in style by the St George’s Radio Players when they perform their latest piece,
Murder at Monks Meadow

Scrutinize the dastardly exploits on stage while you sit with friends and savour a delicious meal. Then, when the drama’s over, all you have to do is exercise those little grey cells and work out who committed the deadly deed.

Saturday 21st January is QUIZ NIGHT at St George’s!

Bring in the New Year with our ever-popular themed quiz supper night!   Join us in St Georg
e’s Hall, doors open on 19.10 and the quiz starts at 19.30.   Teams are tables of 8, either book as a group or sign up and we’ll find you a team/table.   Tickets are £10 each, which includes supper, and a cash bar will be available.

Wash Common’s Candlelit Christmas Concert

Back by popular demand!  
St George’s annual community carol concert returns for another year of festive music and carols by candlelight.
Sunday 4th December at 7pm in St George’s Church
Featuring:  violinist Helen Page,
Harmony Choir, St George’s Choir,
Festive readings by members of the community
and Christmas carols for the audience
Mulled wine and mince pies at the interval

Join us for ‘A Taste of Scotland’

Join on Saturday November 19th at 7pm for a 7.30 start in the Church hall for an evening of all things Scottish!

St George’s social events are something of a legend, if you have not been before, do think about joining us, you won’t be disappointed!  Our Scottish themed event includes a three course Scottish meal, indoor Highland games, a performance of Scottish songs, a quiz and traditional Ceilidh dancing.

St George’s Gift Fair – Saturday 8th October 2016

Come and buy gifts from our specially selected stallholders who have been carefully chosen to display a varied, interesting and affordable selection of gift ideas. The Fair is open from 10.30am until 3.30pm with refreshments including light lunches and a raffle. Profits are in aid of the St George’s Church.

The text from the blue and white sheets can be found under the ‘Church Life’ menu, so if you are away, or forget to pick up a sheet, you can catch up on the notices and readings for the week.
Reminders of changes during the summer holidays:

The ‘Stay & Play’ format for Wednesday Eucharists resumes in September, with a more traditional form during August.
Contemplative Prayer will not be on during August.
There will be no Fair Trade stall during August.

Coffee Morning for Cancer Research UK

Members of St George’s are teaming up with St Francis De Sales to hold a charity coffee morning on Friday 8 July at St Francis Hall.  Do come along between 10am and 12 noon and enjoy freshly brewed coffee, choice of tea and home made cakes.  Mel Brown will have her fab craft and gift stall too.

There’ll be a raffle with a chance to win a bottle of champagne, luxury fruit basket, Sports Centre passes, beauty treatment and many more prizes….

It’s all for a very good cause – Cancer Research UK.   Do join us!

Street Party!

A Right Royal Street Party, hosted by St George’s!
On Saturday 11 June from 2pm -4.30pm
DO JOIN US FOR AN AFTERNOON OF FUN, GAMES AND FOOD 
Including morris dancing, music by Newbury Rock Choir, a recital on the new church organ, children’s theatre workshops run by ‘Perform’, and rolling performances by New Era Players.
All accompanied by a cream tea!!
This event is entirely FREE to the local community

Classical Concerts for Babies and Toddlers

Relaxed and informal concerts for little ones and their families, with the Palmer Ensemble.
Come and join us at St George’s Church on Wednesday 4th May for a concert featuring pianist Olivia Canolle.
Tickets are £7 for adults, and children are free.
Concerts start at 10.30, doors open from 10.15 – concerts last approximately 45mins.
