Thank you for the speedy reply and comments on the design options (below), click here to see the decisions that PCC made on Wednesday 18th March…the short version is Option 4!

12th March – North Transept Community Meeting Room – Manifestations

Please read these notes before considering the designs…

• Health and safety requires us to have manifestations (etching) on the glass of the new transept meeting room area.

• PCC has already had an initial discussion and has decided that we need a design that offers a high level of privacy between those who use the room and those who may at the same time come into church to pray, light a candle, clean, arrange flowers etc.

• Whilst looking for levels of privacy, PCC decided against a blanket, clinical looking complete frosting of the glass.

• PCC asked for some initial design ideas that tied in with / echoed the architecture or furniture of the church.

• PCC has decided to use adhesive manifestation options rather than permanent etching at this stage. This leaves future generations with the freedom to change the designs in the future if so wished.

• The final decisions lie with the Diocese rather than the PCC.

• There are four very rough initial sketches to give an idea of the directions that PCC are considering. Once the options have been narrowed, higher quality images will be produced for consideration.

• This is your chance to share your preferences by either putting an ‘x’ on pictures that you don’t like or a ‘?’ on those you do like.

• It’s not too late to come up with other ideas, but you need to let me know in the next couple of days and they need to fit with our privacy requirements above.

Here are the rough sketches and your can share your comments and your preferred options at the bottom of this page.
