Article posted on 30 April 2017 Leave a Comment

From 25th May to 4th June this year communities and churches around the world will be gathering together to pray for their friends, families and neighbours.  Do come and see for yourself what is going on at St George’s between Ascension Day and Pentecost.

Prayer events of all shapes and sizes are taking place across the world, including 24-7 prayer rooms, prayer days, prayer walks and half nights of prayer. Cathedrals, churches and other venues will host Beacon Events, gathering people across towns and cities to worship and to pray for the empowering of the Holy Spirit for effective witness.

St George’s is open for this event, with coffee and tea available at 9.30 and 3pm.  This years lent groups will be putting together prayer stations along the theme of the Lord’s Prayer and there will be activities for children as well as adults.  Its hoped  that many from our church and local community will come and see what is going on, and join in the wave of prayer.

You can see the poster and timetable for Thy Kingdom Come at St George’s here: Thy Kingdom Come Poster 2017  TKC Programme

There is loads of information and some great resources on the Thy Kingdom Come website, you can also sign up and pledge to pray during the period, either as an individual, or as a family, or as a church.   Do have a look at the website and watch the video by the Archbishop of Canterbury, and if you feel able, why not join the wave of prayer and Pledge 2 Pray at  www.thykindgomcome.global

Do pop into the church at any time.
