Week of Prayer for World Peace – 8th-16th October

Article posted on 7 September 2017 Leave a Comment

In these turbulent times why not join to pray for peace?

Pop into the church at any time during the week of prayer to pause, pray and light a candle.  Prayer cards will be available to take away with you.

We begin the Week of Prayer with a Taize-style candle-let vigil at 6pm on the 8th October at St George’s.  This is an ecumenical, non-eucharistic service and we will be joined by our friends from St John’s and St Francis de Sales – all are very welcome.

On Friday lunchtime at 12.30pm there will be a service of prayer for peace and reconciliation in the church – please do feel very welcome to come to this.

The International Prayer for Peace

Lead me from death to life, from falsehood to truth
Lead me from despair to hope, from fear to trust
Lead me from hate to love, from war to peace
Let peace fill our hearts, our world, our universe.  Amen.
