Remembrance: A few weeks ago I spoke about the possibility of providing a display/area for prayer in St Michael’s Chapel.  Today there are pebbles available for you to take home and paint a poppy, to be placed in the Chapel.  A wreath has also been crocheted to remember the women left at home.  The children will make poppies, and there will be a collection of poems.  PLEASE think if you would like to add to the display by knitting a poppy, painting a picture, writing a piece of poetry, prose or a prayer.  If you have another idea, then please let me know.  We will place everything in St Michael’s on Saturday, 10th November between 11.00 and 12.00 noon.  Kathy.

Advent Groups will start week beginning 19th or 26th November, and will run for three weeks in small groups.  Sign-up sheets are at the back of the Church. Follow the Star. This is the title of this year’s Christmas Campaign from the Church or England. They have produced some great material which we will be using, including a small individual booklet for over the Christmas period from Christmas Eve to Epiphany.  It is excellent.  I will be ordering bulk copies, so please sign AGAIN if you want a copy.  Kathy Winrow.

Thank you letter: We have received a letter from Hampshire Hospitals Trust thanking the knitters of the Coffee, Chat and Craft group for the knitted baby hats donated to them.  The letter is on the notice board in the Annexe.

Christians Together in the Newbury Area (CTNA) is once again running a free Christmas wrapping service in the Kennet Centre.  Can you offer an hour or two between 7th and 17th December to help wrap gifts that members of the public bring to us?  There are other tasks too – people to welcome at the door, and to help with setting it up.  At the weekends we are offering a children’s wrapping service where they bring in their gifts, and we will help them to wrap the gifts themselves, so we need people who are happy to work with children.  If you are interested, then please contact Carolyn Bramhall carolynbramhall01@gmail.com
