Your Parish Needs YOU! …Don’t forget to join the Electoral Roll.

Article posted on 4 February 2019 Leave a Comment

Every Church in the country has an Electoral Roll (rather like the Council’s Electoral Roll, which allows you to vote in elections, amongst other things).  The Church’s Electoral Roll has to be drawn up from scratch every six years, which happens to be this year.  To be on the ER you need to be over the age of 16 and have been baptised.  Being on the Roll allows you to play a part in the decision-making at St George’s; to vote at APCMs, be elected to the PCC.  There will be application forms at the back of the Church for the next few weeks, at coffee after the 09.30 service, or from the church office.  The ER is required to be displayed in Church for two weeks prior to the APCM in April, (no personal details will be shown) and so forms need to returned by Friday 15th March.  If you have any questions, then please do speak to Margaret Blaine, Electoral Roll Officer, via the office.
