Exploring Faith – Alpha
St George’s Alpha Course begins Monday October 3rd at 8pm – if you’ve got questions, why not try Alpha?
ALPHA is a world-renowned course which gives people the opportunity to explore life’s BIG QUESTIONS and share their point of view. NEW for 2016 is the Alpha Film Series—an updated, relevant and engaging resource designed to take you on an epic journey exploring the basics of the Christian faith.
At St George’s, we introduced Alpha in September 2015 and have run four small group courses since, and in September this year we’ll be running a new Alpha course using the brand new films and material, featuring intrepid explorer and man of faith Bear Grylls. You can watch the taster film from the new Alpha series here
Alpha groups are a relaxed and friendly way to explore the Christian faith and will always include the following 3 elements:
FOOD. Each series begins with a meal and a chance to get to know the others on the course.
TALK. There will be a short topical talk or film each week.
DISCUSSION. A chance to chat about anything from the talk or film, to share ideas and ask questions.
If you have already done and Alpha course and would like to explore more, why not join our Alpha 2 group which meets once a month? Alpha 2 is led by Clive Grant, the group evolved from a previous Alpha course which was such a success that they decided to continue.
If you are tempted to join an Alpha group, do get in touch, you can email Paul Cowan (Vicar) vicar’at’st-george-newbury.org.uk or Kathy Winrow nurture’at’st-george-newbury.org.uk, or call the church office on 10635 41249.
